At the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia we know that helping business work helps West Australians work.
We know this because in Western Australia, four out of five jobs are created by the private sector - so it is business that is putting wages in the pockets of workers, supporting families and creating prosperity for the greater community.
CCIWA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been the voice of business for more than 125 years. With more than 9000 members from across all regions and industries, our mission is to make it easier to do business in this state and ensure that WA is a place where businesses of all shapes and sizes can succeed.
We do this by providing specialist expertise and tools that give businesses the confidence they need to make critical decisions, embrace opportunity and grow their operations. We amplify the voice of business through advocacy, which brings industry concerns directly to key decision-makers across all levels of government.
Our vision is for Western Australia to be a world-leading place to live and do business.
At CCIWA, we believe in the importance of operating in a social, ethical and environmentally-responsible manner. We encourage responsible and equitable business and employment practices, contribute to educational and social programs and support environmentally sustainable business operations.
We do this by:
- Supporting and endorsing Heads Up – a joint initiative from beyondblue and the Mentally Healthy Workplace Alliance that encourages Australian businesses to invest in mentally healthy workplaces
- Embracing diversity in our employees, Members and the business community, to help build an inclusive society that values every individual’s contribution
